Today we had a special visit from Mr Darling, one of our local fireman (and member of our school Board of Trustees!) He showed us a video of a fire that happened at a soccer stadium in the UK in 1985, where 56 people sadly died. We talked about radiant heat and about the different ways people react to a fire or emergency. The key message is that if you see a fire, GET OUT FAST, and warn as many people as you can on the way.
It was amazing to learn about radiant heat and how hot it can be. The video was pretty sad, but it taught me a lot on what I need to do to save myself if a fire ever happened!
ReplyDeleteThat video was pretty graphic.
