Turangi Camp
Wow! What a week we have had! There were so many highlights, and we all had an amazingly awesome time. During our week in Turangi we went mountain biking, caving, white water rafting, tramping, swimming and much more! A massive congratulations to the students in Room 6 who faced their fears, made the most of being able to experience these activities and had loads of laughs along the way. Thank you so much to all those who contributed to making our camp something special - especially our awesome camp parents; Mr Alcock, Mr Henderson, Mr Gilmour, Mr Poulsen, Mr Madden, Mrs Chapman and Mrs Langtry.

I enjoyed camp. I got lot's of cuts on my leg, because I accidentally walked into a blackberry bush. I also loved the white water rafting. I got to be co-pilot. I would love to go back to turangi, because the rooms were nice and cosy and had heaters
ReplyDeleteCamp was loads of fun! I loved doing the caving, because we got to see the glow-worms. Mountain biking was great fun too, apart from the steep up-hills. My favourite activity though was white water rafting, it was so much fun and I loved every minute of it. Our tramps were pretty amazing too, because you got to see some awesome views. I was disappointed that I had to leave early, because I missed out on watching camp skits!
ReplyDeleteCamp was really fun. My favorite part was white water rafting, but I wish there were more rapids. I liked going caving and mountain biking and would like to do it again. Concert night was really funny since all the skit were good. The food on camp was good especially the chocolate pudding. Camp seemed quite short this year though since we did so much stuff.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed camp, it was a great camp and the best one yet. My favorite was the white water rafting, even though the water was quite cold, it was still my favorite. The skits were very funny, I liked the parents when Mr Alcock did a magic trick. The food was really yummy, and you didn't go hungry. I liked jumping of the jetty into the ice cold water. There was always something to do, you could never get bored. Tramping though the bush and going to the Taranaki falls was so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed camp, it was so Awesome! My favorite part of camp was when we got to go into the caves it was really dark in the caves and when we turned our head torches off it was pitch black and apparently its the most darkest you can get. I was quite nervous when it came to some of the tricky parts but I liked how the parents encouraged me and made me feel safe. At the end coming out of the cave I looked up and saw a huge weta it probably have been the length of my hand. When we got out of the caves my eyes felt really weird cause we were in the dark for so long. I wish I could do that again.
ReplyDeleteCamp was awesome! My favourite activity would have to be white water rafting, but next time I would go on stage 3 or 4 because I thought it needed to be a bit rougher. It was a great experience because I probably won't do some of the activities we did again. I made a goal for myself before camp to try and be the first person in the lake and the last to get out. Around Turangi was beautiful and could see the mountains really clearly. Camp was amazing and I would do it again.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed our camp this year! My favourite activity was the rafting, I found it really fun and I've never done anything like it. I also enjoyed jumping off the jetty because it was fun swimming around and hanging out. Thank you Mrs Simpson for taking us on an amazing camp.
ReplyDeleteI really loved camp. Camp was the funnest thing ever everyone had lots of fun.My favorite part was when we got to jump off the jetty and that I was the only one who did a back flip.Thank you to all the parent helpers who helped on camp.
ReplyDeleteCamp in Turangi was fun because we went white water rafting and we got wet. We did caving and it was awesome. Also our cabins were nice and the beds were comfy and the teas were nice too. Thank you Miss Simpson for taking us to camp.

ReplyDeleteThe rafting, skits and swimming in the lake were my favourite activities. I've never been to Turangi before, so it was a really fun camp with lots of new things. I also liked the food, because it was really good. I had an amazing time at camp and I can't wait for next year!

ReplyDeleteI had a lot of fun on camp, my favorite activity was white water rafting. Caving was also fun as there was some tight squeezes. The cabins were really nice and comfortable. Thank you to all the amazing parent helpers, and thanks Miss Simpson for organizing it.
ReplyDeleteCamp was awesome! I really enjoyed all of the activities but I enjoyed white water rafting the most. My favourite part was when we jumped off the jetty but the water was very cold. Camp was a great experience and I hope I can do all of the activities again one day soon! Everyone made lots of great memories away on camp. Thank you Miss Simpson and all of the camp parents for organizing this camp!
ReplyDeleteCamp was aweosme! I most enjoyed caving because when we turned off our head torches we could see lots of gloworms. I loved jumping of the jetty and doing flips and bombs and other stuff. I liked that the parents helped me when I went white water rafting. The hot pools was the best.
ReplyDeleteCamp in Turangi was fun because we went caving and it was fun as we had to squeeze through small spaces.Mine and Daniels cabin was luxurious as we were not being disturbed by the other kids in our class. Thank you Miss Simpson for taking us to camp.
ReplyDeleteCamp was amazing. I really enjoyed going caving and white water rafting, my favorite was caving because we got to see lots of glow worms and go through real skinny gapes. It seemed like we had been in there for more than 3 hours until we found out that we had gone through the same gapes 3 times. Thanks Miss Simpson and the parents for making our camp AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteCamp was so fun and that is the best camp I have been on. My favourite part was the white water rafting because I had never done it before and it was a cool experience. My second favourite was mountain biking because I had never done it before and I liked going fast down the hills and going across the swing bridges. I liked caving because it was a buzzy experience being underground and seeing all the glowworms. It was cool seeing the water that goes through the caves too.
ReplyDeleteI loved jumping off the jetty at the lake because I think that I did some pretty good jumps. The water was freezing, but I still went in anyway. If I could go back to the the lake I think I would do a flip off the jetty. The paddle broad was fun too. I didn't fall off!

ReplyDeleteCamp this year was so much fun! My favourite activity was white water rafting because I had never done it before and it was a fun experience. My second favourite activity was mountain biking because it was really fun and I had never done it before, even though I crashed into a tree going down hill really fast. I really liked swimming at Kuratau because there was a jetty and you got to jump off it. I got to jump off the jetty with Mr Alcocks GoPro which was really cool. Caving was really fun and I really enjoyed it. I was scared at first because of the spiders in there but one of the instructors told me, not be afraid and I wasn't that much. I really enjoyed camp this year and I've made a lot of memories with the class.
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun at camp! My favourite activity was the white water then caving I was really nervous for both of these but I found it really fun once I got into it! The water was really cold at the lake it was so fun jumping of the jetty! Thank you Miss Simpson for taking us on this awesome camp!
ReplyDeleteCamp was so fun. I really enjoyed jumping off the jetty and swimming. I liked all the activities and don't regret anything I did on camp, because it was so much fun. I would love to go on the same camp again with the same people and parents. I wish we could of stayed a bit longer. When I get to High School I am going to go to the adventure camp when I am a year 10.
ReplyDeleteCamp was so fun. The thing I most enjoyed was the white water raflting. The rapids were so fun water because water splashed in your face. Mountain biking was great because it was fun flying down the hills. But it wasn't as fun biking up the hills. Caving was great but it was a bit weird when we got into the caves because it was so tight but after a while I got used to it. So overall camp was fun and I had a great time with the class.

I liked jumping of the raft, because the water was really refreshing and It was funny when we got to splash the other boats. Hopefully when I got to High School I can go to a similar camp. Overall, it was fun to hang out with my friends and it was a great experience
ReplyDeleteCamp was so cool. The thing i liked the most was white water rafting. For me the most fun about this was jumping from boat to boat. I t was also very fun when our boat instructor jumped into Catherine boat and tipped her out.My second favorite thing was caving. My second favorite thing is caving because it wasn't hard and it wasn't easy it was in the middle. I liked the toaster the best.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed camp this year. My favorite part was White water rafting. I also really liked mountain biking. I hated caving the most because I don't really like tight spaces. Sadly this was my last camp at Halcombe School. I hope I can do something like this at High School. Overall it was a really good camp and I had a great time.
