We have already had our first two sessions of gymnastics - our PE focus for the next three weeks. Some parts of gymnastics are really difficult and challenging, so we have been working really hard to achieve well and do our best. We are working towards being able to do the following:

Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award
Congratulations to Greer who received this award in recognition of her leadership skills. This was presented by Mrs Pemberton from Westpack Bank in Marton. Earlier in the year, the students in Rooms 4, 5 and 6 voted for who they thought should receive this award. Well done Greer.

Tech Rotation Two - All Done!
We have all really enjoyed our second rotation of Tech, which finished today. We have developed a massive range of skills and have made some really cool things. We'll post our reflections to our blogs after the holidays, so you can read more specific information then. We are already looking forward to our next rotation, which starts at the end of the first week of Term 3. Bring it on!

Rubbish Pick Up
We had noticed there was a lot of rubbish along the road side leading up to our school, so today we did something about it. Great work team!
We also had time to check out the Halcombe Community Walkway. Earlier in the year, we helped out by painting the back of the grandstand, doing some weeding, and finishing one of the gardens.
And of course, we HAD to jump off the retaining wall at the end....

Interhouse Quiz
This afternoon, we all gathered in the hall for the annual Interhouse Quiz! We were split into teams and had to answer a whole heap of general knowledge questions about New Zealand, famous faces, famous places, music, movies, sport and books. Congratulations to Matai, who not only produced the winning team (well done Emma, Brooklyn, Maia and Anna), but were also winners overall!
Playhouse
Over the past two days, Mrs Simpson's maths class has been working on an epic masterpiece - a playhouse! They built the playhouse using the Imaginz Kit (kind of like giant lego) and it will stay in the library during Term 3. It was a very challenging task and the students had to use not only their problem solving skills, but also their cooperative skills. Well done team!
