I think it is really important as New Zealanders to have an understanding of our Maori culture and traditions. Being able to stay on the local marae - Taumata O Te Ra, must have been a very rewarding experience. It sounds like Mr Kereama and his whanau were wonderful hosts and great teachers. I hope that you all enjoyed it and remember some of the traditions that you have been taught.
