  1. I like this book so far mainly because I like survival books.

  2. This is a great kiwi survival story. The author has made you think deeply about certain scenarios in this story. If I was in this situation I would find it very hard to have the heart to shoot an animal.

  3. I'm enjoying X marks the spot. I would not like to be in their situation, but if I was I would find it very complicated to find food and keep warm.

  4. My favourite part in the book so far, was when Ross slit the deer's throat open and blood was everywhere.

  5. I'm really enjoying this book, the most surprising part for for me was when Peter was to afraid to slit the deers neck.

  6. I absolutely love this book and I am always looking forward to reading time after morning tea. My favourite part so far is when Peter gets over his fear and shoots the deer. If I was in that situation I could shoot the deer but I couldn't cut it's throat!

  7. I have really been enjoying this book so far! My favourite bit was when Ross managed to catch the eel with his make shift trap, it was the best time for them to catch it because they needed food and it made them have hope. I hate it every time Miss Simpson puts it down because it is full of suspense! I rate this book 10/10 so far!

  8. I think X-Marks The Spot is a great book to read even though it's got a stink cover. So far my favourite part is when Peter shot the dear and Ross came and slit its throat. If I was in that position, I would do exactly what Ross did.

  9. This a great book. I didn`t think I would like it but it is amazing. I wouldn`t like to be them right now. My favourite part is the part when they kill the deer.

  10. I find this book really interesting and gruesome. They have had really bad luck by losing their packs, but they are finding food quite easily, which is a good thing.

  14. X-Marks the Spot is an awesome adventure book. It just proves that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

  18. I think that this book is really interesting. I can't wait until the next time we read the book, to see what happens. My favourite part of the book so far is probably when they caught the eel, because they were so excited over something that you wouldn't really find exciting in your normal everyday life. Who gets excited over eating an eel!?

  19. By far I think this book is the best book we have read. I like it how they are in a dense forest with all sorts of wildlife. I feel sorry for Ross because he gets treated badly and he has done the most work.

  20. This is an exciting book but I don't think that I would be able to shoot the deer if I were in their situation. My favorite part so far was when Lou goes to find a place to hide in if Boss and Boozer turn up.

  21. I have really enjoyed X Marks The Spot so far. It is full of suspense and it makes me want Miss Simpson to keep reading. It was really gross when Ross slit the buck's throat, but it was food, so I suppose it wasn't too bad. I can't wait to find out what happens in the book and if they ever find X and get out alive.

  22. I found out that the book we were reading was very sad because Peter shot a deer and Ross had to cut its throat. Thats what I would do if I was in the forest.

  23. I find this book really interesting and full of suspense. I can't wait to find out whether or not they find X. Also, I think it's really cool the way they solve their different problems.

  24. I like this book but if this was happening to me, I would have killed those weka because it's not likely that two are going to come along again!

  25. This book is AWESOME! I love the part when they kill the deer because they were all really desperate for food, but when the opportunity comes Peter chickens out. I would find it really interesting being in their position, though without packs and food it would be hard to survive.
