Catapult Challenge

As part of our learning about Medieval Europe, we learnt that catapults were used to attack 'enemy' castles.  They had a devastating effect on castle walls, and all kinds of lethal objects were launched from the catapults.  We thought it would be fun to build our own miniature catapults, though ours were not quite so deadly as those used 1500 years ago!  We had a competition to see who could fire objects (plastic beans) as far and as high as possible.  Well done to Ben and Jack - the catapult champs!

  1. The catapult challenge was really fun. My favourite part about the catapult challenge was seeing how far we could fling it, because it goes further than you expect.

  6. I liked playing with my catapult because I had never made one before. My catapult went high but not as high as the winner. I can't wait till we do another challenge like that!

  14. Making the catapults was really fun but I couldn't get mine to go very far, it just went high instead. Favorite part of firing them was when we had a competition to see who could make their bean go the highest .
