Whanganui Museum Trip

Today was the day of our big trip to the Whanganui Museum.  We had a really busy day and learnt a lot of new things. One highlight was learning all about taonga puoro (musical instruments).  Awhina, showed us a variety of instruments and played them all really well.  They sounded cool!  Margie taught us about harakeke (flax weaving).  She was a very clever weaver and helped us to make our own flax flowers.  We also had time to look around the other museum exhibits.  What a great day!

  2. Room 6, my comment is in regard to the amazing behaviour, attitude and respect you all showed at the museum yesterday. Your manners were beautiful, you listened quietly and respectfully to Margie, Awhina and your teachers, you showed great perseverance when the weaving got a lttle tricky and you worked together when you saw someone needed help. I am very impressed with the whole senior team and the way you behaved. Well done, you should be proud of yourselves!!

  3. I agree with Mrs Walters' comments, very impressive behaviour from Room 6. You are a great group of kids who are rising to the challenge of being good examples for the younger kids. Well done.
